In a saucepan
fry moong dal for 1- 2 mins (Do not allow dal to change colour).
Now fry rice adopting same method
Pressure cook rice and moong dal together in 3 ½ cups
of water and salt. Rice dal mixture should be nicely cooked.
Now in a small pan heat 1 tspn ghee add cumin seeds, whole
black pepper, and Black pepper powder. Mix with cooked rice
and moong dal.
Fry cashew nuts in 3 tspn ghee till light brown, garnish pongal
with cashew nuts.
